We have upgraded our online system and passwords are no longer needed to access your account. Simply click on the account icon, select ‘view orders’ or ‘manage subscriptions’ and enter your email address. We’ll email you a code to login to your account, and voila! You’re in!

shipping

how long will it take my order to arrive?

most shipments typically arrive at your door within 3-7 business days of placing your order. you will receive an email confirmation with a tracking number when your order has been picked up by our carrier. deliveries may take longer during times of high demand or inclement weather. 

if you haven’t received your package within 10 business days of placing the order, please don’t hesitate to contact us via our contact us form. the method team is here for you and happy to help.

do you ship to alaska, hawaii, and puerto rico?

we are sad to say we cannot ship to the oh-so-beautiful but oh-so-far-away alaska, hawaii, and puerto rico at this time.

how do i change my shipping address?

if you’d like to change the address on an existing order, please contact us asap using our contact us form, or give us a call at 1-866-9-method. we process all orders very quickly once they are submitted, but we’ll do our best to change a shipping address if possible. if you’d like to change the shipping address associated with your account, just log in to your account and navigate to your customer profile.

where do you ship?

as much as our products would love to travel abroad, we’re only shipping within the continental united states at this time. stay tuned for future availability in other countries!

do you offer free shipping?

the short answer is, yes. we offer free ground shipping on all orders over $29. the long, lawyer-y answer is: fed ex ground shipping will be waived at checkout for orders of $29 or more. tax does not count toward order total. a flat-rate shipping charge of $15.00 will be applied at checkout for all orders under $29. valid on shipments to all continental u.s. states.

is method tested on animals?

we are a cruelty free brand – that means our products are tested by people, not on animals.

returns & exchanges

what is your you’ll love it promise?

we don’t really do returns or exchanges. after all, what would we do with a used bar of soap? if you’re not happy with your product within 30 days of receiving it, simply contact us and we’ll get to work on making things right.

what should i do if i receive the wrong product?

well that’s embarrassing. if you received a product different from the one you ordered, we’re sorry about that. contact us using our contact form, and we’ll get to work on getting you the right product right away.

when will my credit card be charged?

your card will be charged when your order is placed.

my credit card is not processing. why?

there can be many reasons for a failed credit card transaction. your card information may have been entered incorrectly, the card may have expired, reached its limit, or a malfunction may have occurred with the credit card processing system. please double check your information. if you continue to have problems, use our contact form , monday through friday, 8 am-5 pm cst.

what forms of payment do you accept?

we accept all major credit cards like mastercard, visa, discover, and american express. we also accept paypal. we do not accept checks, money orders or gold bullion.

how do i update my card information?

login to your account, and click on ‘manage subscriptions’. You should see an ‘Edit’ option next to ‘Billing’. Click ‘Confirm’ to change payment method. You will receive a secure email from which you can click ‘Update payment information’ to enter your new card info.

do i have to pay sales tax?

yep. like all mail order companies, we are required by law to charge sales tax in all states where we have a business presence.

where can ifind the status of my order?

you may find your order status, or by logging in to your account and clicking on “view orders” to see the status.

can icancel my order?

please contact us asap using our contact form. we process all orders very quickly once they are submitted, but we’ll do our best to cancel an order if possible.

is yourhand “wash” as effective as hand soap?

absolutely. our hand washes are soap and can be used in the same way with the same efficacy as other leading liquid soap brands. it’s always a good idea to follow the CDC guidelines for effective hand washing (fyi, the “Golden Girls” theme song is about 20 seconds if you’re getting tired of “Happy Birthday”). Let us know if you have any other questions + happy hand washing.

can you help with a product i bought from a third party marketplace?

we can only guarantee the authenticity of products purchased on our website, at our retail locations, and through authorized partnerships. we’re not able to process returns or exchanges, or otherwise assist with orders not placed through our website or at our retail locations.

can anyone use method men or method body products?

yes! we love that you love method, and you can love it any way you choose. we created our method men line to provide more personal care options, including fabulous new fragrances for body wash and hair care, and new grooming goods like beard care, shaving balm and more. our scent-sational method body line is made with fab fragrances to match your mood. we welcome everyone and anyone to use our method products.

are your products vegan?

yes. all of our products are vegan because they don’t contain animal ingredients or by-products. we’re also cruelty free. and we’re also glad you asked – we have many attributes we’d like to shout from the rooftops but we can’t fit it all on our bottles.

where are your products made?

we make many of our method home products that are sold in North America at our very own LEED platinum, Zero Waste certified factory in Chicago’s historic Pullman district. For the remainder of our products, we work with carefully chosen manufacturing partners in the U.S. and Canada.

method products are great to use around moms-to be (and dads-to-be, for that matter). we choose our ingredients very carefully when we formulate our products, because we know you want to feel good about using them in your home. like all household products, make sure to use them as directed, and keep out of reach of pets + children.

you’ll be happy to know that all method products – including our almond-scented cleaners – are made free of nut proteins, which are typically what cause allergic reactions. please check with your doctor if you have any concerns about what’s right for you.

is method gluten free?

indeed. all of method’s products are made 100% gluten free.

how is method supporting simply the basics?

founding partner of the Hygiene Bank Association™: method is the founding partner of the Simply the Basic’s Hygiene Bank Association™, the first system in the world to connect existing hygiene service providers and to establish quality control standards for hygiene distribution. think of a network of food banks, but for quality hygiene products. method’s ongoing partnership supports database fees, staff time, marketing, and service grants to deserving members.

product support: method is providing support with ongoing product reinforcement, via Simply the Basics’ Hygiene Bank Association quarterly grant programs that aid newly developed and growing hygiene banks. These grants will be awarded to the deserving hygiene banks across the country to further close the gap in hygiene access and help them become more established to gain their footing and continue to serve communities in need.

education: To further raise awareness and education around hygiene insecurity, method worked with Simply the Basics to develop an engaging educational game that challenges users to “burst their bubble” on their hygiene insecurity knowledge.

why are hygiene products considered essential?

Adequate hygiene is essential because it helps prevent life-threatening infections and other adverse health effects. A 2016 national survey found that 67% of the people experiencing homelessness reported one or more preventable health conditions and 34% reported that their health made it difficult for them to keep a job or to handle daily living activities. The average life expectancy in the homeless population is estimated between 42 and 52 years, compared to 78 years in the general population. Simply the Basics is inspired by Abraham Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, the philosophy that people are unable to focus on any goals (job security, housing, relationship building, sobriety, mental health, and self-actualization) if they are unable to meet their needs at the very basic level (food, shelter, clothing education, and hygiene).

why is quality and choice important when it comes to hygiene distribution? (e.g. why can’t people use homemade remedies?)

Every person is unique and requires hygiene products that address their unique needs. For example, an elderly individual may have different dental hygiene needs than a child. Poor oral hygiene caused by not having access to essential hygiene products like toothpaste can lead to life-threating illnesses (Cleveland Clinic). That’s why Simply the Basics believes that hygiene products are essential to human health and to helping people reach greater goals.
